Comprising: a probably Naples topographical plate, the reverse inscribed Camaldoli, 21.4 cm. diam., a pair of two-handled urn vases with flower branches, 20.8 cm. high, a pair of small two-handled urn vases with ornamental panels, 14.2 cm. high (overall some rubbing to the gilding) (5)

Lot Essay

The Hermitage of Camaldoli is a monastery near Naples, Campania, Italy. One of the monasteries still active in the region, it sits on the hill in back of Naples at the highest point in the city, between Vesuvius and the Phlegrean Fields.
