Comprising a pair of armchairs, four side-chairs and a sofa, each chair with serpentine toprail above a pierced interlaced splat and padded drop-in seat covered in beige cotton material, on cabriole legs headed by an acanthus clasp, on ball-and-claw feet, the sofa covered in light-beige cotton material, on conformingly shaped legs, with metal plate to the underside inscribed P.L. Warnars / Meubles Ancienes et Modernes / La Haye

The cabinet-maker/upholsterer P.L. Warnars (b. 1845), active in The Hague as an upholsterer during the third quarter of the 19th century, and later on also as a cabinet-maker, was a supplier of fabrics and furniture for the Royal Palace Noordeinde during the last quarter of the 19th Century.
