engraving, 1554, watermark Eagle in a Circle with a Crown, a good impression of the fifth state (of six), trimmed to the platemark, several skilfully repaired tears, the longest measuring 100 mm., with the usual vertical central fold, otherwise in good condition; with Caius Marius in Prison (B. 26; B. & L. 29), after Polidoro da Caravaggio by the same hand, apparently the first state (of three), trimmed on or just outside the platemark, a small tear at the lower sheet edge, generally in good condition
