The out-scrolled back, padded sides and cushion covered in powder blue floral material, the reeded and scroll-carved frame with leaf-wrapped terminals above a serpentine-fronted rail and on leaf-wrapped and reeded baluster legs terminating in foliate-cast caps and castors

Lot Essay

An interesting feature of this sofa is the voluted truss-scrolled arms and stump legs, wrapped in richly-carved Roman acanthus and Grecian palms in the robust 19th Century antique Louis Quatorze fashion popularised by T. King's Modern Style of Cabinet Work Exemplified, 1834.
