A closely related Florentine console table dated circa 1785-1790 is conserved in Galleria Palatina, Sala di Venere in Palazzo Pitti, Florence. See E. Colle, I Mobili di Palazzo Pitti, Il primo periodo lorenese 1737-1799, Florence, 1992, n. 55, p. 128. Interestingly, the friezes of both console tables are delicately carved with various types of flowerheads alternating, and both are centered by an urn motif. Other production centers in Italy such as Rome were manufacturing similarly carved consoles.
