The rounded rectangular top inlaid with draped female figures emblematic of astronomy centred by a celestial globe, the angles with flowerheads flanked by scrolling foliage, the breakfront frieze within matted borders and scrolling foliate mounts with a central drawer inlaid with putti emblematic of astronomy, the reverse with a simulated drawer conformingly inlaid and on faceted tapering legs mounted with baguettes and terminating in upswept foliate and ball sabots
