Lot Essay

Derived from a bust-length portrait pattern of Henry VIII by an unknown artist, close to the three-quarter-length type at the Galleria Nazionale, Rome, dated to the 1540s; and after the engraving by George Vertue, published 1732, after an unknown artist.
