Peter Bull is often credited with being one of the most influential figures in the birth of Teddy Bear collecting as a popular hobby. He wrote several books on bear collecting during the 1960s and 1970s and often appeared on television discussing his love of the teddy bear. Lot Essay

The original Delicatessen, Peter Bull's bear who played the role of Aloysius in the Granada television series, scripted by John Mortimer and originally shown on ITV in October 1981, stayed at the Teddy Bear Museum until he was replaced by this unique House of Nisbet bear, the No.1 in the series. Peter Bull, actor and pioneer arctophile, was a friend of Gyles Brandreth.
