Quatrefages' monogenist beliefs and his strong support for the idea of human antiquity led him and his assistant Hamy to undertake a study of the crania of the ancient and modern races of Europe, the results of which are published in Crania Ethnica. The first portion of Quatrefages and Hamy's work contains a comprehensive history of human fossil finds to date with illustrations and analysis. Garrison-Morton 206.
