A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADEITE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER
The globular body raised on three lion-mask and paw supports, the pair of large lion-mask handles projecting from the high, flat shoulder suspending loose rings, with a buddhistic lion seated atop the cover, the icy, semi-translucent stone of very pale greenish-white tone with some faint green and lavender areas

Compare the white jade censer of this type with lion-masks at the top of each leg and another surmounting the cover, while the loop handles issue from the mouths of dragon masks, illustrated in Masterpieces of Chinese and Japanese Art, Freer Gallery of Art Handbook, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C., 1976, p. 34.
