The curved toprail with brass fittings, extending beyond the 'goose-neck' side posts and terminating in out-curved hooks above shaped spandrels, the curved backsplat a plain, unadorned panel flanked by the upper extensions of the rear legs forming the rear corner posts, above the rectangular frame enclosing the soft mat seat, the legs joined by stepped stretchers with plain aprons

Lot Essay

A very similar quanyi, also in huanghuali, was sold in these rooms, 19 September 2006, lot 83.
