QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
Of flattened baluster form and square section, each side inlaid with a cloisonné enamel panel decorated with a pair of dragons contesting a flaming pearl surrounded by green scrolling foliage issuing from a yellow lotus blossom above and with blue angular scroll below, within an outer border inlaid in champlevé enamel with angular scrolls alternating with florets, the narrow sides with gilded panels of pierced formal foliate sprays applied with archaistic bird handles in champlevé and backed by the darker metal of the liner, raised on a pedestal base decorated with bands of lotus petals
