Lot Essay
Compare the large doucai bottle vase of similar proportions and size, also unmarked and dated to the 18th century, sold Sotheby's, Hong Kong, 11 May 1983, lot 214. This vase is decorated with a similar bold pattern of flowers encircling the body but without dragons, and the catalogue notes that it was from the Fonthill Hierlooms, from the Collection of Lord Margadale of Islay and the Collection formed by Alfred Morrison during the 19th century.
