AN UNPRECEDENTED PRIVATE COLLECTION OF HERMITAGE LA CHAPELLE, VINTAGES 1937 TO 1989
The following lots 613 to 746 represent the finest private collection of Hermitage, La Chapelle ever to appear at auction. The entire collection has been in the same hands since original purchase some fifteen years ago. The wines have been stored for that time in a purpose built, temperature and humidity-controlled cellar built by the current owner in South West London. Various vintages have been enjoyed by the vendor over the years and now the time has come to sell. Stunning highlights include two full cases of the 1961 vintage - a classic, iconic wine and fourteen dozen of the equally famed 1978 vintage including two full cases of magnums. Other highlights include several full cases of some of the famed vintages of the 1960's - now extremely rare.
We are truly delighted to be able to bring this collection to auction.
Lying in Weybridge, Surrey (EHD)
Following the removal from a cool, but damp long-term cellarage please note that on the 1960s and 1970s vintages buyers must allow for the possibility of labels drying and detaching or part detaching between packing and delivery
