Of rectangular section set on four bracket feet and decorated on the exterior in gold takamaki-e, kirigane and silver with a flowering plum tree under a silver moon streaked with clouds, the rounded edges of the box lacquered in a silver and gold checkerboard pattern rendered in togidashi, the sides of the box with plum trees on a matching roiro-nuri ground; interiors nashiji; metal and cloisonné-enamel ring fittings
