Iron sukashi tsuba in a slight variation on the classic Akasaka design of a gnarled plum tree, the rounded-rectangular rim formed as the tree's trunk

With a Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu (Sword-fitting especially worthy of preserving) certificate no. 225461 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword), dated 2000.2.28
