Rectangular, with flat base and shallow cover, inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the exterior with lotus arabesques surrounded by narrow rectangular panels of lotus blossoms, circles and triangles, all accented or bordered by inlaid twisted wire, the borders of the lower box circles and clouds, the ground and base brownish-black lacquer; interior lined with red paper
