A gilt bronze figure of Tara
Tibeto-Chinese, 18th Century
Finely cast seated in lalitasana on a double lotus base, her left hand raised in vitarka mudra and her right lowered in varadha mudra, wearing a voluminous dhoti with incised hems, adorned with beaded necklaces, armlets and foliate tiara inset with turquoise and coral, the face with benign expression, flanked by large lotus buds on either side
