A gilt copper figure of Shadakshari
Nepal, 10th/11th Century
Well cast and sensitively modeled seated in dhyanasana with his principal hands in anjali mudra, wearing a diaphanous dhoti gathered in elegant pleats at his feet incised with cloudscrolls, 'Endless knots', and foliate hems, his multiple necklaces with pendent jewels, his face with a serene expression framed by an elaborate headdress and large circular earrings suspended over his shoulders
