A gilt bronze figure of Tara
Tibet, 15th Century
Finely cast seated in lalitasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, wearing beaded necklaces and armlets inset with turquoise, holding a lotus stem in her raised left hand and a further stem issuing from the base to her right, her face with a benign expression surmounted by a festooned tiara and remains of cold gold, base sealed with a gilt copper plate
