A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE PLATES, Qianlong
Painted at the centre with a large leaf-shaped cartouche containing a gu-shaped vase with lotus standing on a low stool beside flowering peony, reserved on a cell-pattern ground enriched with lotus, camellia, lotus and ruyi (small rim chips), 23cm. diam.; and a pair of famille rose plates, painted at the centre with a cockerel perched on pierced rockwork, looking down at a chicken among flowering branches of peony, the rim decorated with alternate panels of prunus and daisies, between diaper pattern borders (rim chips), 22.8cm. diam.
