Lot Essay

Emile Carlier (1849-1927) was a pupil of Henri Chapu (1833-1891) at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He was awarded a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1889 and medals at the Antwerp and Amsterdam exhibitions at the turn of the century.
