The central medallion depicting a hostile crowd demolishing one of a row of gable houses, below a trellis diaper pattern border reserved with four cartouches of emblems and fruit, the reverse with stylized flower-heads interlinked with formal strapwork and swastika (small rim chip)

cf.D.Howard and J. Ayers, op.cit., p.60, pl.15. The design is taken from a silver medal by J. Schmeltzing (1656-1693) commemorating the Rotterdam Riots of 1690 and after an engraving by G. van Loon.
