Richly painted in iron-red, green, blue, yellow, sepia and gilt, the centre with a baluster vase filled with flowers standing on an unrolled scroll between scholar's utensils, the well decorated with a lavender-blue ground band with a stylized lotus and poppy meander, below four cluster of flowering branches divided by fruit, the brown-edged rim encircled by an iron-red ground narrow border enriched with scrollwork in gilt
