A distinguished architect and architectural historian, Jackson was also an inveterate traveller. His Memories of Travel, was published in 1923, his diary of a journey to Dalmatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina is held in the V&A, a travel journal is in the Bodleian, and Recollections of Sir Thomas Graham Jackson The Life and Travels of a Victorian Architect (ed. D.H. Jackson) was published in 1950. He was a talented draughtsman, elected to the Royal Academy in 1896 (A.R.A. 1892), and his own sketches illustrated several of his architectural histories.
