A PAINTED GREY POTTERY FIGURE OF A LADY, Han Dynasty
The slender naked figure shown standing on attenuated slab feet incised to indicate the toes, the shoulders socketed to receive separate arms (now missing) the head slightly to the right with high cheekbones framed by flat ears and the simple line of the long black hair parted down the middle and gathered with a band at the back, the details picked out in red and black pigments over extensive areas of pinkish-white slip (some restoration)
