AN ARITA GLOBULAR TEAPOT AND COVER, circa 1700
Enamelled in iron-red, green, turquoise, lavendel blue and gilt, each side with a fruit-shaped niche, one containing a peony moulded in high relief, the other a karashishi below pine, between flowering branches, the shoulder with a band of petal-shaped panels of diaper and floral pattern, the flat cover with knop finial, the C-shaped handle and spout painted with scrollwork in iron-red and gilt (restored and related crack)
