the elderly lady carved leaning over supporting the small boy as he tentatively learns to walk in geta sandals, the young child looking back in amusement as a sweeping brush gets caught under foot, both dressed in incised robes with scattered roundel decoration, the boy with a pillow tied to his back to prevent any painful mishaps, standing on an irregular oval base, a basket of vegetables and sweeping pan to their feet, red lacquer signature tablet to base -- 5in. (12.7cm.) high
