A Japanese silver baluster vase, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
with twin beast-head handles the body with an incised band depiciting a ho-o and dragon to one side, a snake wrapped around a minogame and ho-o to the reverse, enhanced by areas of gilding, separated by two masks modelled in high relief of Hannya, engraved to the lower body with a dedication to a Russian official Nikolai. T. Federenko.., three stamp seals to base -- 13in. (33cm.) high.
