A Chinese blue and white square-section jar, late 19th century
with straight walls rising to the slanted shoulders surmounted by a short slighty tapering neck, painted with alternating chrysanthemum and hydrangea sprays, the shoulders with bamboo, peony, daisy and other floral sprays -- 9¾in. (24.7cm.) high, wood cover and stand.
