A Cantonese famille rose vase, 19th century
of ovoid form with tall shoulders with two pairs of chilong dragons, surmounted by a foliate based waisted neck with an everted lappet rim, applied with Buddhist lion cub and ball handles, decorated with two key-fret shaped panels enclosing ladies, dignitaries and boys variously portrayed at court and in verandas, all amidst floral and fruit sprays and precious objects, the rim and foot with floral and fruit sprays on gilt ground -- 16 5/8in. (42.2cm.) high.
