A Market Scene

The present work shares similarities with a stipple engraving by G. Vendramini titled 'Fresh Gathered Peas Young Hastings', published in 1795 by Colnaghi & Co., after a design by Wheatley. It was one of a series of thirteen engravings after Wheatley, published by Colnaghi illustrating The Itinerant Trades of London (see M. Webster, Francis Wheatley, London, 1970, p. 177, nos. 107i-ii).
