Ulysse Nardin's Sonata wristwatch was in development for seven years with contributions by Dr. Ludwig Oechslin, Pierre Gygax and Lucas Humair. The watch includes a patented self-winding in-house caliber and features a novel alarm with countdown indicator and dual time system with instant time zone adjustor. The patented dual time function allows the wearer to adjust the time zone forward or backward using pushers in the band, plus (+) or minus (-) to change the position of the hour hand. The home time or reference time stays displayed while the date, the alarm and countdown adjust automatically when a time zone adjustment is made. The alarm can be set twenty-four hours in advance and a display counts down the time until the alarm will ring.
