Lot Essay
Accompanied by an Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives confirming the date of manufacture as 1952 and its subsequent sale on December 26th of the same year.
The extract further confirms that the watch was originally manufactured with both applied steel Breguet numerals and radium dots. The attractive placement of the luminescent dots on the inner ring of the dial further heightens the rarity of the present example.
According to our research the present watch has never before appeared at auction. It is one of only 20 examples of the reference 565 in stainless steel known to the market and one of only 8 pieces known from the second series with center seconds.
For an example of the reference 565 in 18k pink gold and further information on this model see the preceeding lot in this sale.
