A PAIR OF SEVRES BLUE AND WHITE BISCUIT PORCELAIN PORTRAIT ROUNDELS OF MARIE-ANTOINETTE AND LOUIS XVI

Each in an ebonised and giltwood frame with a crown finial, Marie-Antoinette inscribed in gilt 'J'AI TOUT VU, TOUT SU ET TOUT OUBLIE. 6 Oct.' and on the verso with a blue printed interlaced 'L' mark and incised 'JB', Louis XVI inscribed in gilt 'QUE MON SANG NE RETOMBE JAMAIS SUR LA FRANCE. 21 Janv.' and on the verso with a lengthy typed inscription ending '...Sent to Frederick Rathbone, 20 Alfred Place West, London S.W., by a dealer in Paris who purchased all the effects of this lady privately from the executor.' and also incised 'JB'
