Having a rosette medallion on an ivory field with strewn foliage and rose blossoms with similar end panels all within a cornflower blue border of rose blossoms, woven lengthwise

Lot Essay

The design of this carpet was influenced by 18th century Axminster Carpets woven in England and designed by the important architect and designer Robert Adam.
This carpet was commissioned around 1900 by a titled English family from the decorating firm Lnygon & Morant who were Royal decorators.
