The hemispheric bowl painted after William Hogarth with 'The Midnight Modern Conversation' or 'The Gentleman's Club' and with 'The Election Party' from the 'Rake's Progress' series beneath swags of flowers suspended from the rim, the domed cover with a finial as a child vinter and his companion emblematic of Autumn, the barefoot pair seated in opposing directions, holding fruiting vine, painted with two similar scenes of debauchery, similar swags arched from the gilt dentil rim forming ovals with those on the bowl below
