A HELLENISTIC TERRACOTTA 'HEAD' VASE
CANOSAN, CIRCA 3RD CENTURY B.C.
In the form of a female head wearing diadem with applied discs and conical bosses, hair behind held in a sakkos painted with a net pattern, with pointed leaves either side of neck, surmounted by a draped female figure, a strap handle emerging from her back, 19¾ in. (50 cm.) high; a terracotta group of Eros and Psyche with arms entwined, 5 3/8 in. (13.6 cm.) high; and three Canosan style terracotta draped female figures, 10 in. (25.5 cm.) high max. (5)
