TWO SILVER WOOL BASKETS
one Middelburg, maker's mark of I. Karoes, 1815, the other the Netherlands, maker's mark indistinct, 1814

Both of tapering circular form, the first example with wirework sides and shaped rim, the centre engraved with a foliate wreath, the second with sides pierced with roundels incorporating vacant cartouches, the foot and the rim both decorated with beading - 8cm wide (90gr) (2)

the second on loan to the Goud-, Zilver- en Klokkenmuseum, Schoonhoven, 1976 to 1996
