Shijo Nawate nite...., the last stand of the Kusunoki clan at the battle of Shijonawate in 1348, one of Kuniyoshi's masterpieces depicting the intensity of battle and desperate heroism against overwhelming odds, signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi and Kuniyoshi, published by Soto, aratame and date seal Snake 4 (1857) in the right-hand sheet and Snake 8 (1857) in the left-hand sheet, very good impression, colours and condition, slight worming
