Of shallow rounded form with vertical rim on short spreading foot, the turquoise interior with moulded roundels containing confronted birds and floral designs divided by panels of moulded scrolling arabesques, a band of moulded red-outlined gold kufic inscription around the rim between minor stripes, the exterior with a band of bold black naskh, repaired breaks with slight restoration

The technique here is closely related to that of lot 86, with the black applied under the glaze and then the rest of the decoration painted over it. In the present case a considerable amount of the overglaze decoration remains.
