AN INDIAN RUBY AND DIAMOND INSET GOLD BIRD FINIAL
PROBABLY DECCAN, LATE 17TH OR 18TH CENTURY
The well-rounded bird covered with a lattice of rubies, a rose-cut diamond for its eyes and also in the centre of each wing, a pendant pearl from the mouth and another larger one on its back, standing on the top of a long tapering gold stem, possibly made for use as a perfume dipper
