The rectangular bezel set with a central flat-cut diamond within a band of cabochon rubies, all within shaped surrounds, beaded edge, pronounced plain gold triangular reverse, the hoop with ears on the shoulders and a double notch back

Lot Essay

A similar ring in all respects save that the central diamond here is replaced by a carved baroque pearl in the form of the bull Nandi is in the British Museum (Susan Stronge, Nima Smith and J. C. Harle, An Indian Treasury, London, 1988, no.101, p.97).
