AN EXCEPTIONAL OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE THREE OF THE GREATEST WINES FROM THE INTERNATIONALLY SUCCESSFUL 1990 VINTAGE
The following four lots were purchased on release from well known and respected Los Angeles retailers. These lots are being offered in original wood cases, in excellent condition. The wines were removed from ideal professional storage conditions just prior to this sale.
Our consignor will be familiar to most buyers of these wines. You may recall this gentleman's other case of 1990 Romanée-Conti which appeared on the cover of our Los Angeles 29 April 2004 catalogue and was received with great interest from our buyers. For this particular sale he has chosen to showcase another 1990 Romanée-Conti (in original wooden case, banded prior to inspection - his last) and has added three other important lots: one case of 1990 La Tâche and two cases of 1990 Pétrus. All lots are in original wooden cases.
Scott Torrence
La Tâche--Vintage 1990
Côte de Nuits, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
In original wooden case, banded prior to inspection
Bottles numbered 10670-10681, four slight signs of seepage
Levels: 2cm or better
"I cannot think of a more profound, young red Burgundy tasted than DRC's 1990 La Tache. Although it still requires another 3-4 years of cellaring, it is incredibly endowed, with an extraordinary perfume of Asian spices as well as jammy black raspberries, cherries, and blackberries infused with smoke, toast, and dried herbs. Full-bodied, but ethereal, with layers of flavor, as well as mind-boggling delicacy and complexity, this youthful La Tache will be at its finest between 2004-2015." Robert Parker, eRobertParker.com (Feb 2002)
