There are two inscriptions found on this bell. Above the eagle: I am called the Kaiser's Bell/His honor I praise/On holy ground I stand. The inscription found on the other side above a representation of the Apostle Peter: For the German Empire I beseech/That God would grant peace and protection. For a similar example also belonging to Kaiser Wilhelm, see: Gold and Silver Items: Treasures of the Hohenzollern from the Castle Huis Doorn, 1985, plate 103.
