KANGXI (1662-1722)
Painted in a vibrant cobalt blue with three panels enclosing birds and insects flying above tree peony and prunus branches growing beside pierced rockwork, the panels framed above and below by large blue-ground ruyi-shaped lappets reserve-decorated with scrolling chrysanthemum, and divided by trellis-pattern columns, the neck and foot with blue-washed bands with reserve-decorated prunus heads, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a lotus bud finial
