Lot Essay

The newly married Gerald and Angela Lascelles lived at 12 Albion Mews from 1952-1956. Lucie Rie had her studio at 18 Albion Mews and given her close proximity to the Lascelles it is possible to suggest that this vase was acquired directly from the potter.
