Two silver Manju netsuke, 19th Century
each with the bowl in ivory: the plaque of the first in hira and takazogan inlaid in gilt, with two kappa fishing by a stream, one reaching down to fill his cup with water; the second of Endo Morito (Mongaku Shonin 1120-1199) under the icy falls of the Nachi waterfall, enduring his self-imposed penance for the accidental murder of his beloved Kesa Gozen, details in gilt -- the first 2in.
