carved in low-relief, with a dancer waving his fan and a polearm over his shoulder, the plaque set in a wood bowl; another fine example with a butterfly and a spray of peony blowing in the wind, inlaid in aogai, coral and tortoiseshell, signed Shibayama Isshi; the last with a caparisoned elephant carved in high relief and inlaid -- the first 1 5/8in.
