A lacquer bunko (document box), first half 20th Century
of rectangular form with canted corners, decorated in takamakie with fern leaves in varying subtle tones of brown, and clusters of red lilies with gilt stamens, the foliate stems decorated in nashiji on a black ground, all upon a pale tan lacquered ground, with black irregular marks scattered throughout the foliage, the interior with nashiji ground -- 10 3/8in. (26.3cm.) wide.
